Egypt is Palestine's only neighbour since Israel's brutal occupation in the country.

However, some issues have surfaced and delayed many humanitarian aid attempts for Gaza due to the border control in Rafah by Israel.

We plead to the Egyptian government to help ease the movement and hold discussions with Israel who has occupied most of Palestine.

YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad delivering a brief keynote address as a main spokesperson for this press conference.

The press conference has provided valuable insights and to express our deep concern and appeal for the urgent help at Egypt's border to allow the passage of global humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip by the respective authority(s) in Egypt.

PRESS STATEMENT

END THE BLOCKADE OF GLOBAL HUMANITARIAN AID TO G4Z4

It has been more than a month since the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Palestine. As of yesterday, 11,240 marters, 29,000 wounded, 1,5million displaced, 222,300 units partially damaged, 41,120 units completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable, 253 schools severely damaged, 94 government headquaters  severley damaged, 71 mosques completely damaged. 03 churches severeley damaged. More than 4,500 dead children, and 3,000 women - civilians, journalists, UN staff and healthcare workers, were recorded in both Gaza Strip and West Bank.

The Rafah crossing, under Egyptian control, serves as Gaza's primary connection to the external world and operates independently of Israeli authority. It has emerged as the primary pathway for the distribution of humanitarian assistance and for foreign passport holders to enter or leave Gaza.

While Israel doesn't exercise direct control over the Rafah’s crossing, it oversees all activities in southern Gaza from the Kerem Shalom military base and employs additional surveillance measures. Israel controls all sea and air access to Gaza and most of its land borders.

It intensified its existing restrictions, imposing a total blockade on October 7, with Rafah remaining as the sole entry point for humanitarian aid.

Egypt stated that Rafah was technically open but non-functional because of Israeli bombardment in Gaza. This led to a dispute over the terms for transporting aid that was stranded on the Egyptian side.

The ongoing blockade at the Rafah border, which is still in effect, violates international law and amounts to a collective punishment imposed on the population of Gaza.

The restriction of vital supplies, which is yet another brazen breach of the Geneva Convention and the Hague Convention, serves as a sobering reminder of the callous impunity by Israel and its allies like the United States.

As we continue the call for an immediate ceasefire to end the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, we can begin the steps to improve the lives of the remaining Palestinians and refugees in this country while acting strategically to economically isolate a rogue state.

With the US and the West’s complicity, the genocide persists and the ugliest form of barbarism is unleashed for the world to see.

Arab and Muslim countries fail to come up with joint post-war initiatives. (is this relevant?)

The Islamic country leaders who took part in Saturday's joint summit of the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) did issue a final declaration condemning Israel's war in Gaza.

There was a lack of consensus among Arab foreign ministers. Specifically, some countries, with Algeria taking a leading role, advocated for a complete cessation of diplomatic relations with Israel. This divergence highlights differing opinions or stances within the group of Arab nations, with some advocating for a more drastic measure regarding their relationship with Israel.

Other Arab countries, which have established diplomatic relations with Israel, pushed back, stressing the need to keep channels open with Netanyahu's government.

Instead, they called for an immediate end to military operations in Gaza and declared that Israel bears responsibility for "crimes" against Palestinians.

Israel as an occupying power must be reminded of its obligation to facilitate and ensure the timely essential provision for the urgent delivery of food, water, electricity and medical supplies to Gaza.

The number of aid trucks going through Rafah averages 14 daily, U.N. aid officials say, far fewer than the 100 they estimate are needed to meet basic needs.

In normal times more than 400 trucks go into Gaza daily - through various routes - to supply 2.3 million people.

Desperation for essentials like bread drove Gazans to break into U.N. warehouses on Oct. 29 to seize flour and other food essential  items.

We at Humanity Movement urge a global political will to help end the blockade to ease humanitarian aid for the Palestinians in Gaza.

We at Humanity Movement, urge for collective international will and action from political leaders worldwide. The goal is to bring about the cessation of the blockade in order to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in Gaza. We plea for coordinated efforts at the global level to address the humanitarian challenges in the region.

It is imperative that the world’s understanding of this movement is not against any particular country, rather we are asking everyone involved to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
