SHAH ALAM:
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said he will leave the legal
process to take place following the RM60 million class-action lawsuit against
the government on the Covid-19 vaccinations after effects.
"As a
country that practices the rule of law, I want this matter to be brought to
justice through our legal process.
"All
citizens have the right to take (legal) action against anyone if they have a
case, to seek redress through our legal system," he said at a press
conference.
Earlier, he
officiated the 10th International Conference on Traditional and Complementary
Medicine.
His response
came after eight Malaysians filed a RM60 million class-action lawsuit against
the government and the World Health Organisation (WHO), alleging that Covid-19
vaccinations caused deaths and severe health complications.
The eight,
represented by Messrs Mohamad Zainuddin & Co., filed the suit naming Prime
Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin
Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri
Razarudin Husain, Pfizer Malaysia, and Sinovac Biotech Ltd among the 25
defendants.
Other
defendants named in the suit included Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly
Ahmad and his predecessors namely Khairy Jamaluddin and Datuk Seri Dr Adham
Baba; as well as Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as well as
his predecessor Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
The plaintiffs
claimed that WHO and its director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared
the fraudulent and unscientific Covid-19 Pandemic on March 11, 2020 and
subsequently approved and recommended member countries worldwide, including
Malaysia, to implement Movement Control Orders (MCOs).
